Doug and Denise had packed up their van, looking forward to a relaxing getaway.
But instead, they got eaten alive by mozzies.
That one itchy experience sparked something big.
Doug and Denise Kewley had been living the outdoors lifestyle since they were married in 1968.
With more than 37 years of firsthand experience exploring Australia, they knew exactly what van travellers needed and what they didn’t.
That deep connection to nature and smart, simple design became the foundation of their family business, Top Gear 2 Go.
Doug got to work creating what would become the first flexible magnetic insect screens.
Not mass produced. Not off the shelf. But something practical, durable, and made to last.
A product born from personal need.
And a business built with heart.
Today, we’re proud to carry the torch.
We’re Crissy and Kev, vanlifers, builders, and the new owners of Top Gear 2 Go.
We still run it as a small family business, and we’re just as committed to practical, well-made gear that makes vanlife more comfortable and more fun.
Our products are still designed with purpose.
Still made to fit real vans.
And still shipped out from right here in Australia.
